Thickness mode high frequency MEMS piezoelectric micro ultrasound transducers
Thickness mode piezoelectric micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) ultrasound transducers, operating in the 50-75 MHz range, have been fabricated using a composite sol gel technique in combination with wet etching. The composite sol gel technique involves producing a PZT powder/sol composite slurry, which when spun down yields films a few micrometers thick. Repeated layering, and infiltration, ...
متن کاملUltrasound evaluation of normal orbital preseptal thickness.
INTRODUCTION Orbital preseptal thickness is an important parameter not only in diagnosis of orbital cellulitis but also in recent classification and management of dark eye circle (DEC). OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate normal preseptal thickness and collect baseline data in normal skin in a given population with no orbital pathology. MATERIALS & METHOD Ultrasound was performe...
متن کاملRepeatability and interobserver reproducibility of Artemis-2 high-frequency ultrasound in determination of human corneal thickness
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to assess the repeatability and limits of agreement of corneal thickness values measured by a high-frequency ultrasound (Artemis-2), hand-held ultrasound pachymeter (DGH-500) and a specular microscope (SP-3000P). METHODS Central corneal thickness (CCT) was analyzed in this prospective randomized study that included 32 patients (18 men and 14 women) age...
متن کاملSchlieren metrology for high frequency medical ultrasound.
The increased use of medical ultrasound above 40 MHz poses the challenge of measuring beam features that may be less than 40 microm. We have successfully used the optical Schlieren technique for transducers operating as high as 110 MHz. After a brief discussion of the technique, results are presented, including comparisons to state-of-the-art hydrophones and wire targets.
متن کاملPassive Materials for High Frequency Ultrasound Transducers
In this paper, the elastic properties of passive materials (matching, backing and lens materials) for ultrasound transducers are explored at room temperature in the frequency range of 25-65MHz using the ultrasonic spectroscopy method. AlurninaJEPOTEK 301 and tungsten/EPO-TEK 301 composites were fabricated and measured. Experimental results display a monotonic rise in acoustic impedance of the c...
